Chandigarh Chief Engineer Inspects Pre-Monsoon Works

Chandigarh: With the monsoon approaching, UT chief engineer C B Ojha conducted a comprehensive city-wide inspection, directing officials to accelerate groundwork and ensure timely completion of all essential works. Accompanied by superintending and executive engineers along with other officials, he reviewed ongoing infrastructure projects and assessed the city's readiness to tackle seasonal challenges.

Inspection of Drainage and Road Infrastructure

During the inspection, Ojha evaluated road gullies, road cleanliness, tree pruning, and the desilting of Patiala Ki Rao, a critical component of the city's drainage network. He instructed officials to fast-track desilting operations and complete maximum work before the rains to ensure smooth stormwater flow and prevent waterlogging in vulnerable areas.

The chief engineer emphasized that regular cleaning of road gullies is essential for effective urban flood management. He directed field staff to maintain strict supervision over these activities and ensure that all road gullies remain free from silt, debris, and other obstructions.
