The post office located within the Cochin University of Science and Technology (Cusat) campus in Kalamassery, Kochi, is undergoing a significant transformation into a next-generation facility designed specifically to appeal to the student community. These include smart service counters for efficient transactions, free Wi-Fi connectivity throughout the premises, multiple charging ports for electronic devices, dedicated reading corners for academic and leisure reading, and comfortable leisure spaces for relaxation between classes. According to postal department officials, this will become the fourth such next-generation post office established in Kerala, following successful similar transformations on other university campuses across Kottayam and Thiruvananthapuram. "Several post offices functioning within educational campuses are being systematically transformed into what we're calling 'Gen-Z' post offices to better serve this demographic."

"The overall ambience will be distinctly different from regular post offices," the official emphasized.
