Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and her cabinet colleagues conducted a cleanliness drive at 28 ghats of the Yamuna River on Sunday, emphasizing public participation as essential for a clean river.
Chief Minister Leads by Example
Gupta participated in the drive at the riverfront in the Geeta Colony area, urging people not to discard broken idols and clothes into the river. The drive started at 6 am and lasted four hours.
Political Leaders Join the Campaign
Delhi BJP president Harsh Malhotra joined the campaign at the Yamuna Bank stretch, along with other party leaders and workers. Officials stated that thousands of citizens, including volunteers from over 500 social and religious organizations, participated.
Government's CommitmentGupta stressed that maintaining river cleanliness is a shared responsibility between the government and society. She announced that the campaign would be ongoing, with regular drives at various locations.

- 12 new decentralized sewage treatment plants set up under the AMRUT scheme in Najafgarh for Rs 860 crore.
These measures aim to prevent untreated sewage from flowing into the Yamuna. Delhi ministers Parvesh Sahib Singh, Pankaj Singh, Ravinder Indraj, and Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta also participated at different ghats. BJP MPs Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, Manoj Tiwari, and Swati Maliwal joined the campaign with other party leaders and workers.
