Eliminating Hazards and Reducing Clutter
The project will involve shifting approximately 52.5 kilometers of overhead electricity wiring across 26 key roads in Chandni Chowk underground. For years, the narrow lanes of this Walled City district have been crisscrossed with low-hanging power and cable wires, posing serious fire and electrocution risks. By relocating these tangled networks below ground, authorities aim to eliminate these hazards, significantly improving public safety while reducing visual clutter in the historic area.

Officials have revealed a comprehensive Rs 17,000-crore roadmap planned for implementation over the next three years.
