The Uttar Pradesh excise department carried out a major reshuffle of senior officials late Thursday night, transferring 27 officers to new positions across the state. According to officials, assistant excise commissioners and district excise officers (DEOs) who had served at the same location for three or more years were relocated to new postings.
Key Transfers
DEOs, considered the backbone of the department in the field, were transferred in 18 cities, while the remaining 17 officers were appointed as assistant commissioners. Among the notable changes, Arvind Maurya was posted as DEO in Gorakhpur, replacing incumbent Mahendra Nath Singh, who was moved to the headquarters. Similarly, Rakesh Bahadur Singh was shifted to Bijnor as DEO, and his previous position was filled by Ravi Shankar, who was serving as assistant commissioner at a distillery in Ghaziabad.
