FASTag Annual Pass Fee Hiked to Rs 3,075 from April 2026

NHAI Announces Price Revision for FASTag Annual Pass

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has officially increased the fee for its popular FASTag Annual Pass. Starting from April 1, 2026, the annual pass will cost Rs 3,075, marking a revision from its previous price of Rs 3,000. This change represents a moderate adjustment in the prepaid toll plan designed specifically for non-commercial private vehicles.

Background and Implementation Details

NHAI first introduced the FASTag Annual Pass in June 2025, with the service officially rolling out on August 15 of that year. Initially priced at Rs 3,000, the pass offered users either up to 200 toll crossings or a full year of travel on national highways—whichever milestone was reached first. The authority has clarified that this fee revision aligns with the National Highways Fee (Determination of Rates and Collection) Rules, 2008.

According to a press release from the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, the revised rate will apply to all eligible non-commercial vehicles equipped with a valid FASTag. These vehicles can avail the Annual Pass facility at approximately 1,150 fee plazas located across National Highways and National Expressways throughout India.

Growing Adoption and User Base

The FASTag Annual Pass has seen significant adoption among private vehicle owners since its introduction. Official data reveals that over 56 lakh users have already embraced this convenient toll payment solution. This substantial user base demonstrates the program's success in streamlining toll payments and reducing congestion at highway plazas.

The annual pass system represents a strategic move by NHAI to encourage digital payments and enhance the overall travel experience for millions of commuters who regularly use India's expanding national highway network.

How to Purchase the FASTag Annual Pass Online

Vehicle owners interested in obtaining the FASTag Annual Pass can follow these straightforward steps through digital platforms:

  1. Access the official Rajmarg Yatra mobile application or visit the NHAI/MoRTH website.
  2. Log in by providing essential details including your vehicle registration number and FASTag ID. Important note: Your FASTag must be active, properly installed, and correctly linked to your vehicle.
  3. Complete the payment of Rs 3,000 (which will increase to Rs 3,075 from April 1, 2026) using secure online methods such as UPI, debit card, credit card, or net banking.
  4. The annual pass will automatically attach to your existing FASTag account. You will receive an SMS confirmation once the activation process is complete.

The activation typically occurs within two hours after the one-time fee payment is processed through either the Rajmarg Yatra App or the National Highways Authority of India website. This seamless digital process eliminates the need for physical documentation or visits to toll plazas.

Eligibility and Vehicle Categories

The FASTag Annual Pass is specifically designed for non-commercial private vehicles including:

  • Passenger cars
  • Jeeps
  • Vans

Commercial vehicles, trucks, and other freight carriers remain excluded from this particular annual pass program, though they may utilize standard FASTag services for toll payments.

This fee revision comes as part of NHAI's ongoing efforts to maintain and upgrade India's highway infrastructure while providing convenient digital solutions for the growing number of private vehicle owners across the country.
