A significant fire incident occurred at a steel-cutting and packing materials factory located in the Mayapuri Industrial Area Phase I on Thursday, leading to a partial collapse of the building, according to officials.
Emergency Response
The Delhi Fire Service (DFS) received an alert at 11:17 am, prompting the dispatch of 18 fire tenders to the scene. The flames rapidly spread across portions of the first and second floors of the building, which is a basement-plus-two-storey structure covering approximately 500 square yards.
Building Collapse During Firefighting
While firefighters were working to control the blaze, sections of the first and second floors collapsed. This rendered the structure unstable and posed significant hazards to the ongoing operations.
Fire officials confirmed that the fire was brought under control and completely extinguished by 2:20 pm. Fortunately, no casualties were reported in the incident.
