Free Bus Travel for NEET Re-exam Candidates in Odisha

The Odisha state government has announced free bus travel for students appearing for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET-UG) Re-examination, 2026, scheduled for June 21. Candidates will only need to produce a valid NEET (UG) Re-examination admit card to avail the facility.

Examination Centres and Logistics

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the retest at 134 examination centres across Odisha. To facilitate smooth transportation, the Commerce and Transport Department issued directions on Thursday to the Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC) and the State Transport Authority (STA).

Government's Decision and Rationale

The decision was taken following approval from Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi. The initiative aims to reduce the risk of heatstroke during peak summer, support economically weaker students, and ensure equitable access to examination centres. The department has asked OSRTC and STA to take immediate steps for implementation, coordinating with district administrations, the Capital Region Urban Transport, and the higher education department.
