Gomti Nagar Residents Upset Over Unrepaired Service Lane After PNG Work
Gomti Nagar Lane Unrepaired After PNG Work

Residents of Vishal Khand in Gomti Nagar have expressed strong concerns over a service lane that was dug up for pipeline work by Green Gas Ltd (GGL) and has remained unrepaired for more than a week. The affected stretch, located near Manoj Pandey Crossing, was excavated approximately 8 to 10 days ago to lay pipelines for providing PNG connections to a few houses in the locality.

Incomplete Restoration Raises Safety Fears

According to residents, the road has not yet been properly filled or restored after the installation work. They fear that the incomplete restoration could become particularly risky during rainfall, especially with the monsoon season approaching. The dug-up portion has weakened the road surface, creating potential safety hazards for pedestrians and nearby households.

Residents' Repeated Complaints Unheeded

Former state election commissioner Satish Agarwal, a resident of Vishal Khand, stated that residents have contacted the company multiple times requesting repairs, but the condition of the lane remains unchanged. He said, “The workers of the company had assured locals that the road would be restored immediately after the pipeline installation work.” Despite these assurances, no action has been taken.

Locals have demanded that the company complete the repair work at the earliest to prevent inconvenience and potential accidents. They emphasized that the prolonged delay is unacceptable and poses a risk to the community.

Company Response

A senior official of Green Gas Ltd acknowledged the issue and assured that it would be resolved in a couple of days. However, residents remain skeptical given the lack of action so far.
