Jaipur: Governor Haribhau Bagde on Thursday appealed to the public to voluntarily minimize vehicle usage and utilize public transport for fuel conservation. Taking personal initiative, he also reduced the number of vehicles in his official motorcade during his travels.
Governor's Personal Initiative
While traveling from Lokbhavan to the airport on Thursday, he refused to allow the use of a warning car, ambulance, fire brigade, and other vehicles with his motorcade. An order was issued on his instructions in this regard, with strict directives to ensure that the number of accompanying vehicles was kept limited.
Response to PM Modi's Appeal
Responding to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's appeal for fuel conservation, he called for minimum use of government vehicles at other levels as well, alongside his official motorcade, and urged the use of public transport. This move is expected to set an example for other officials and the general public.
The governor's decision aligns with broader efforts to reduce fuel consumption and carbon emissions in the state. Citizens are encouraged to adopt similar practices to contribute to environmental sustainability.
