Greater Noida Residents Demand Urgent Road Repairs Amid Safety Concerns
Residents of Sector P-3 in Greater Noida have voiced significant concerns regarding the rapidly deteriorating condition of internal roads within their area. They report that deep potholes, extensive cracks, and stagnant water have transformed daily commuting into a hazardous ordeal, posing serious safety risks for both pedestrians and motorists alike.
Formal Complaint Filed with GNIDA Authority
In a formal letter addressed to the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) CEO, Paritosh Bhati, a member of the Federation of Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) in Greater Noida, has urgently called for an immediate inspection and subsequent repairs of the roads. The primary objective is to prevent accidents and ensure public safety in the sector.
"The deplorable condition of the road infrastructure in our sector, Sector P-3, is extremely serious," Bhati wrote. "For a considerable period now, both the main thoroughfares and the internal roads within our sector have fallen into a severe state of disrepair. Deep potholes have emerged at various spots across the roads; as a result, two-wheeler riders frequently fall and sustain injuries, while vehicles suffer significant damage."
Compounding Issues During Monsoon Season
Bhati further elaborated that the situation escalates alarmingly during the rainy season. "During the rainy season, the situation becomes even more alarming as these potholes fill up with water, making it extremely difficult — if not impossible — for residents to even walk on the roads," he stated. He emphasized that despite numerous oral and written complaints submitted over time, no concrete steps have been taken by the authorities to address this pressing issue.
Another concerned resident, Aditya Bhati, highlighted the immediate dangers posed by the road conditions. He pointed out that two-wheelers often slip and fall due to the unpredictable potholes, leading to injuries. Additionally, he raised a public health concern: "The stagnant water accumulating in the potholes is also a potential health risk, particularly due to the breeding of mosquitoes," he added.
Frustration Over Lack of Action
Expressing deep frustration, Aditya Bhati noted that residents have filed numerous complaints with the GNIDA Authority over the past two years, yet they have received little more than excuses from officials in response. "If this neglect continues, we will be forced to take further action," he warned, indicating potential escalation if the matter remains unresolved.

When questioned about the ongoing issue, GNIDA officials provided a statement acknowledging the concerns. They explained that the tender process for road repairs is currently ongoing and attributed the delay in commencing repairs to procedural aspects of this process. However, no specific timeline for the completion of repairs was provided, leaving residents anxious about further delays.
The collective plea from Sector P-3 residents underscores a critical need for prompt governmental intervention to restore safe and navigable roadways, ensuring the well-being of all community members.
