Gujarat's e-Nagar Portal Achieves Rs 1,031 Crore Revenue Milestone in 2025-26
The Gujarat state government announced on Monday that its innovative e-Nagar portal has recorded a remarkable 18 lakh transactions during the 2025-26 fiscal year, generating substantial revenue of Rs 1,031 crore. This digital governance platform, developed by the Gujarat Urban Development Mission (GUDM), continues to revolutionize how citizens access municipal services across the state.
Comprehensive Digital Transformation Since Launch
According to an official government statement, the e-Nagar portal has demonstrated impressive growth since its inception. Cumulatively, the platform has facilitated over 1.24 crore transactions, with total revenue exceeding Rs 6,076 crore. This represents a significant digital transformation in municipal service delivery, bringing numerous essential services to citizens' fingertips.
The previous fiscal year, 2024-25, saw the portal record 26 lakh transactions and generate Rs 1,522 crore in revenue, indicating consistent performance and growing citizen adoption of digital municipal services.
Extensive Range of Online Municipal Services
The e-Nagar portal serves as a comprehensive single-window platform for multiple municipal services, eliminating the need for physical visits to government offices. Citizens can now complete numerous essential tasks entirely online from their homes, including:
- Complaint registration and tracking
- Applications for shop licenses and business permits
- Marriage registration and certificate processing
- Building permission applications and approvals
- Professional tax payments and documentation
- Property tax calculations and payments
- Estate rent management and payments
- Community hall bookings and reservations
- Water and drainage connection management
Advanced Features Enhancing User Accessibility
The government has implemented several advanced features to improve user experience and accessibility. An AI-powered chatbot facility has been integrated to help users easily navigate the platform and access information without technical assistance. Furthermore, integration with the 'Bhashini' language platform has made the e-Nagar portal available in 23 different languages, ensuring accessibility for users from diverse linguistic backgrounds across Gujarat.
The official statement emphasized that the e-Nagar project represents an integrated digital ecosystem where all municipal services are consolidated into a single, user-friendly platform. This digital initiative aligns with broader national efforts toward digital governance and citizen-centric service delivery, reducing bureaucratic hurdles while increasing transparency and efficiency in municipal operations.
