The state government of Gujarat issued charge arrangement orders on Monday, assigning additional responsibilities to several IAS officers. These orders aim to streamline administrative functions across various departments and corporations.
Additional Charge for Suthar Raj Rameshchandra
Suthar Raj Rameshchandra, who currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the Surat Urban Development Authority (Suda), has been entrusted with the additional charge of the Managing Director of Dakshin Gujarat Vij Company Ltd (DGVCL). This move relieves Yogesh Choudhary of the additional charge he was holding for that post. The new arrangement is expected to bring continuity and efficiency to the power distribution company.
New Responsibilities for K P Joshi
K P Joshi, the Managing Director of Paschim Gujarat Vij Company Ltd (PGVCL), will now hold the additional charge of the Regional Commissioner of Municipalities in Rajkot. Furthermore, Joshi will also take on the additional role of Deputy Municipal Commissioner (DyMC) of the Rajkot Municipal Corporation. These additional responsibilities come after relieving Mahesh Jani of the additional charge of Deputy Municipal Commissioner. The government's decision is aimed at leveraging Joshi's experience in municipal administration and power sector management.
Significance of the Orders
These charge arrangement orders are part of the state government's routine administrative reshuffling to optimize the utilization of senior bureaucratic talent. By assigning additional charges, the government ensures that critical positions are filled by experienced officers without delay. The changes are effective immediately, and the officers are expected to balance their existing duties with the new responsibilities efficiently.
The government has emphasized that these arrangements are temporary and subject to further modifications as per administrative requirements. The orders reflect the state's commitment to maintaining smooth governance and service delivery across various sectors.
