Gurgaon Officials Assure Stable LPG Supply, Crack Down on Hoarding Amid Rumors
Gurgaon LPG Supply Stable, Officials Warn Against Panic Booking

Gurgaon Authorities Reassure Residents on LPG Availability, Launch Enforcement Drive

In a firm statement addressing growing concerns, Gurgaon Deputy Commissioner Ajay Kumar has declared that the supply of essential commodities, including liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), remains smooth and stable across the district. Officials are urging residents to refrain from unnecessary booking or storage of cylinders and to disregard misleading rumors circulating on social media platforms.

Intensified Enforcement Against Malpractice

Amid these public assurances, district authorities have significantly ramped up enforcement activities to curb malpractice within the LPG distribution network. District Food and Supplies Controller Ashok Rawat detailed that six specialized enforcement teams have been established to conduct daily field inspections. These teams are specifically tasked with preventing hoarding and black marketing of cylinders.

"Strict action against any violation will continue," Rawat emphasized. "Consumers will not be allowed to face inconvenience, and panic booking should be avoided at all costs."

Recent Raid and Seizure Highlights Crackdown

The enforcement drive yielded immediate results during a raid conducted this past Friday in Rithoj village. Officials successfully seized a total of 69 LPG cylinders—56 domestic and 13 commercial units—that were being stored illegally in violation of regulations. Following the seizure, a First Information Report (FIR) was formally registered against the individual responsible for the illegal stockpiling.

Authorities reiterated that domestic cylinder supplies are operating at normal levels and are being monitored on a daily basis in close coordination with major oil marketing companies. The district is currently served by 58 LPG distributors representing HP Gas, Indane, and Bharat Gas, catering to approximately 10.27 lakh domestic consumers and over 9,900 commercial establishments.

Supply Statistics and Additional Booking Channels

To manage an observed increase in booking demand, additional convenient channels have been introduced for consumers. The Indian Oil Corporation has enabled several new options:

  • IVRS booking available on the number 8391990070
  • Missed-call booking service on 8927225667

These new methods complement existing booking avenues such as SMS, WhatsApp messaging, the IndianOil ONE application, PhonePe, and Paytm platforms.

Adherence to Booking Guidelines and Final Appeal

Officials have reminded consumers of the established booking guidelines that remain in effect. Urban consumers are required to maintain a minimum 25-day gap between successive LPG bookings, while rural consumers and beneficiaries of the Ujjwala scheme must adhere to a 45-day interval between orders.

The district administration has issued a final appeal for public cooperation, stressing that the supply chain is robust and fully operational. Residents are strongly encouraged to remain calm, verify information through official channels, and actively avoid spreading or believing unverified misinformation regarding commodity shortages.
