The Haryana Government has introduced a significant relief measure for property tax defaulters, offering a 75% waiver on interest accrued on outstanding property tax dues. The scheme covers pending liabilities from the financial year 2010-11 to 2024-25 and will remain open until August 31, 2026.
Eligibility and process
Property owners must self-certify their property details on the Property Tax Outstanding Payment and No Dues Certificate (NDC) Management System portal. They are required to clear all outstanding property tax dues up to the assessment year 2026-27 to avail the benefit. Rohtak Municipal Corporation Commissioner Satyendra Duhan confirmed that the waiver applies to those who pay their entire outstanding amount for the period up to 2026-27.
Additional 10% rebate for early payment
In a further incentive, the government is offering a 10% rebate on property tax for the current financial year (2026-27) to those who make payment on or before July 31, 2026. This rebate is separate from the interest waiver and aims to encourage timely payment.

Commissioner Duhan urged property owners to take advantage of the special concession. He stated, "Paying property tax on time is the responsibility of every citizen, as it enables the municipal corporation to carry out development works, including road construction, sanitation services, street lighting and other civic infrastructure projects, more effectively. Residents should pay their property tax promptly and contribute to the city's development."
The scheme is expected to provide major relief to defaulters while boosting revenue for municipal corporations, enabling better public services and infrastructure improvements across Haryana.
