Chandigarh: The Haryana advocate-general office has become the first in India to achieve complete digitalisation, marking a historic milestone in legal administration. On Thursday afternoon, Haryana Advocate General Pravindra Singh Chauhan launched the Pro Case Management System (PCMS) live, ushering in a new era of digital legal management.
Digital Transformation Journey
The digital transformation journey began approximately six months ago. AG Chauhan stated, "Through this platform, vetting, legal opinions, case-related correspondence, and litigation management between the advocate general office and various government departments are now being carried out completely digitally. This has significantly accelerated workflows and minimised unnecessary delays."
Enhanced Accessibility and Efficiency
He further informed that all case-related documents — including paper books, replies, written statements, and previous court orders — are now securely available in PDF format. This has nearly eliminated dependency on physical files while enhancing transparency, efficiency, and accessibility. The PCMS ensures that all stakeholders can access necessary documents in real time, reducing the need for physical movement of files.
The initiative is expected to set a benchmark for other states to follow. With this move, Haryana has not only streamlined its legal processes but also contributed to environmental sustainability by reducing paper usage. The system is designed to handle high volumes of cases efficiently, ensuring that legal services are delivered promptly.
