The Union government has granted official approval for the construction of a cement concrete (CC) road instead of an asphalt surface beneath the flyover in Hubballi. The revised infrastructure project involves an additional expenditure of Rs 13.9 crore and will encompass a significant 3.5-kilometer stretch. National Highways Public Works Department officials have confirmed that preparatory work is already underway, with specialized machinery for the CC road construction having been transported to Hubballi. The approved plan specifically covers the corridor from KC Circle to Hosur Cross, including the Vijayapura Road arm, Gokul Road stretch, and the Gadag Road section. NH PWD engineer Santosh Naganur provided technical confirmation, stating that the proposal requesting additional funds for constructing CC roads in place of asphalt has received formal approval, with Rs 13.9 crore officially sanctioned. Preparations are actively progressing to launch work immediately, and concrete pavers have already arrived in Hubballi. Following machinery installation, construction will begin within a couple of days, starting from the IT Park to KC Circle segment.
Naganur further indicated that the contractor has been instructed to complete the entire project within a three-month timeframe. This accelerated schedule aims to minimize public inconvenience and deliver the improved infrastructure promptly.
