Jaipur: 2 Coaching Centres, 2 Restaurants Sealed Over Fire Safety Lapses
Jaipur Seals 4 Establishments for Fire Safety Violations

Jaipur: Two coaching centres in the Gopalpura Bypass area and two restaurants on Amer Road and in Mansarovar were sealed Monday after Jaipur Municipal Corporation inspections found non-compliance with mandatory fire safety requirements.

The establishments have been ordered shut for 180 days or until further notice. The action was taken after inspections revealed that the premises lacked the required fire safety arrangements or a valid fire no-objection certificate (NOC).

Officials said the lack of proper fire safety infrastructure posed a potential risk to students, customers, employees and property. In view of public safety, the establishments have been sealed for 180 days or until further orders from the competent authority, whichever is earlier.

Chief fire officer Gautam Lal said the institutions were given sufficient opportunity to comply with fire safety regulations before the action was initiated. “Public safety cannot be compromised. The establishments failed to meet the required standards despite being served notices,” he said.

JMC Commissioner Om Kasera appealed to operators of coaching centres, hotels, restaurants and other commercial establishments to ensure full compliance with fire safety norms and obtain fire NOCs on time.
