Ranchi: Jharkhand Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) K Ravi Kumar on Friday provided the list of unmapped voters to all recognised political parties and requested their cooperation in the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
Details of the SIR Process
The information was handed over to the parties via pen drives, as per a statement from the CEO's office. Kumar emphasised that cooperation from all recognised political parties is expected throughout the SIR process.
Kumar further explained that if a voter is found to be unmapped, they will receive a notice from the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) during the SIR process. In response, the voter must submit documents related to themselves, their mother or father, both parents, or grandparents, depending on their date of birth.
Requirements for Unmapped Voters
All unmapped voters are required to undergo the ERO notice and hearing process to ensure their inclusion in the final voter list. Additionally, both mapped and unmapped voters will receive partially filled enumeration forms as part of the SIR.
It is important to note that the list of unmapped voters has been published at all polling stations across the state since May 23. Voters are encouraged to review the list at their convenience and get their mapping done through Booth Level Officers (BLOs).
Door-to-Door Enumeration
Starting June 30, BLOs will conduct door-to-door visits to provide partially filled enumeration forms to both mapped and unmapped voters. Voters must fill in the form, affix only one updated photograph, and sign it. If both mapped and unmapped voters return the completed and signed form to the BLO, their names will be included in the draft voter list.
Mapped voters generally will not be required to submit any additional documents during the SIR process.
Final Publication Date
The final publication of the voter list, after the disposal of claims and objections by the EROs, is scheduled for October 7, 2026.
