The Karnataka State Police has officially commenced the recruitment process for 3,395 Police Constable (Civil) vacancies. The official notification was released on June 5, 2026, inviting eligible candidates to apply for these positions.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who have successfully completed PUC/Class 12 or an equivalent examination from a recognized board are eligible to apply. The notification recognizes qualifications such as the Class 12 examinations conducted by CBSE, ISC, and other state boards as equivalent.

Age Limit

Applicants must be at least 18 years old as of the last date of application submission. The upper age limit for General category candidates is 33 years. Candidates belonging to SC, ST, Category-I, 2A, 2B, 3A, and 3B categories can apply up to the age of 35 years. For candidates from tribal communities residing in Karnataka's forest areas, the maximum age limit is 38 years. Age relaxation is also provided for eligible in-service candidates and other categories as per government rules.

Application Fee

The application fee for General category and Categories 2A, 2B, 3A, and 3B candidates is Rs 750. For SC, ST, Category-I, ex-servicemen, and transgender candidates, the fee is Rs 500. The fee must be paid online during the application process and is non-refundable.

Selection Process

The selection process comprises multiple stages: a written examination, Physical Standard Test (PST), Endurance Test (ET), medical examination, and preparation of the final merit list. The written exam will be conducted offline in OMR mode, consisting of 100 questions for a total of 100 marks. Subjects include general knowledge, science, geography, history, the Constitution of India, the national freedom movement, mental ability, and moral education. Candidates must secure at least 30 marks to qualify for the next stage.

Physical Standards

Male candidates must have a minimum height of 168 cm. Female and transgender candidates require a minimum height of 157 cm and a minimum weight of 45 kg. Separate physical standards apply for candidates from notified tribal areas and ex-servicemen.

Training and Pay Scale

Selected candidates will undergo nine months of basic police training and will be on probation for two years and six months. The post offers a pay scale of Rs 37,500 to Rs 76,100.
