Construction work on a new and modern Tehsil Complex in Lehra Gaga, Patiala, officially commenced on Wednesday. Cabinet minister Barinder Kumar Goyal laid the first brick to mark the start of this significant project. The complex carries a total cost of Rs 19.66 crore.

Project Aims to Improve Government Services for Local Residents

The new Tehsil Complex aims to provide better, more efficient, and transparent government services to residents of Lehra Gaga and surrounding areas. Minister Goyal emphasized that the development addresses the administrative needs of the region. He stated the complex will enhance the efficiency of government offices and offer relief to the general public. People often face difficulties when accessing essential services.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann laid the foundation stone for this project on October 4, 2025. All necessary formalities, including the tender process, are now complete. The minister directed concerned departments to ensure no compromise on construction quality. He also stressed the importance of timely completion.

Key Features and Facilities of the New Tehsil Complex

The modern Tehsil Complex will span approximately 52,566 square feet. It incorporates modern designs and advanced technology. The complex will house multiple essential offices and facilities.

  • Treasury office
  • Labour inspector office
  • Food supply office
  • Staff rooms and record rooms
  • Waiting halls for the public
  • Other essential administrative and public facilities

Additionally, residential quarters for government officers will be constructed on the premises. This step ensures officer availability and improves overall service delivery to citizens.

A Historic Step for Lehra Gaga After 18 Years

Minister Goyal described the construction as a historic step for the people of Lehra Gaga. The area received sub-division status nearly eighteen years ago. This project fulfills a long-pending demand from local residents. It gives a new direction to the administrative development of the entire region.

The government expects to complete the Tehsil Complex within approximately six months. Once operational, it will significantly streamline administrative processes. Residents will benefit from centralized and modernized government services.
