Members of the Jankipuram Vistar Sanyukt Kalyan Mahasamiti submitted a complaint at the Jalkal camp office on Thursday regarding the persistently low pressure of drinking water supply in the Jankipuram Vistar area. The issue has persisted for the past six months, causing significant hardship to residents.
Water Supply Woes in Sectors 3, 5, and 8
The low water supply pressure from overhead tanks in Sectors 3, 5, and 8 has forced nearly 6,000 households to ration their water usage. Residents have been struggling to meet their daily needs due to the inadequate flow.
Previous Complaint Ignored
Mahasamiti General Secretary and advocate Vinay Krishna Pandey stated that a complaint was lodged three months ago, but no action was taken despite assurances from the authorities that the issue would be resolved. He added, 'Also, tube wells from which water tanks are filled frequently develop faults, and repairs are delayed, leading to a shortage of supply.'
Additional Grievances
Residents also raised concerns about sewer overflows, foul smells, and poor sanitation in the area. These issues have compounded the difficulties faced by the community.
Official Response
General Manager Kuldeep Singh acknowledged the problem and assured that the department is looking into it and will resolve it soon.
