Two-Day Conference by Akhil Bharatiya Sant Samiti Kicks Off Planning

A significant two-day conference organized by the Akhil Bharatiya Sant Samiti (All India Saints Committee) commenced on Saturday, serving as a crucial platform for outlining the extensive preparations for the Kumbh Mela. During this gathering, the Nashik Trimbakeshwar Kumbh Mela Authority (NTKMA) presented detailed plans and highlighted the comprehensive facilities to be established for seers and pilgrims visiting both sacred sites.

"The government is fully prepared to rise to every challenge," asserted Minister Mahajan. "We will ensure that neither Nashik nor Trimbakeshwar faces any shortage of resources or facilities for the Simhastha."

Massive Rs 28,000 Crore Development Plan Unveiled

Minister Mahajan revealed an ambitious development blueprint, stating, "Having secured a planning window of two and a half years for this Kumbh, we intend to completely transform the city through meticulous micro-planning for which developmental works worth Rs 28,000 crore are being undertaken." This represents a substantial increase from the Rs 4,000 crore allocated during the 2014-15 Kumbh Mela, underscoring the government's intensified focus on infrastructure and urban renewal.

Critical Land Acquisition for Future Fairs

The minister also addressed the pressing issue of land acquisition, which is deemed essential for hosting future Kumbh Melas. "It will be impossible to host Kumbh Mela in future without the availability of adequate land," Mahajan cautioned. He noted that Chief Minister Eknath Shinde is favorably inclined towards acquiring sufficient land in both Nashik and Trimbakeshwar, with assurances of fair compensation provided to affected landowners.

Collective Push for a 'Nasha-mukt Kumbh'

During the meeting, saints and sages collectively resolved to implement the concept of a "Nasha-mukt Kumbh" (Drug-free Kumbh). Minister Mahajan endorsed this initiative, affirming, "We will certainly work towards providing a positive direction to the youth through the medium of a ‘Nasha-mukt Kumbh'." This highlights a dual focus on both infrastructural development and social welfare, aiming to create a safe and spiritually enriching environment for all attendees.

The comprehensive preparations, backed by significant financial investment and collaborative efforts, signal a transformative approach to hosting one of India's most revered religious gatherings, ensuring it meets modern standards while preserving its sacred traditions.
