Mandya: With the 2026-27 academic year set to commence on Monday, Mandya Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer KR Nandini has directed education and allied department officials to ensure that all government schools are fully prepared to welcome students in a safe, clean and academically conducive environment.
Preparatory Review Meeting
Chairing a preparatory review meeting at the Zilla Panchayat on Saturday, the CEO conducted a comprehensive assessment of school readiness across the district. Discussions focused on several key areas including campus cleanliness, building safety, infrastructure maintenance, teacher deployment, enrolment drives, textbook and uniform distribution, and preparations for the Akshara Dasoha midday meal programme.
Accountability and Punctuality
Stressing the importance of accountability, she instructed teachers to report to duty punctually and discharge their responsibilities diligently. The CEO emphasized that timely attendance and dedicated efforts are crucial for the smooth functioning of schools.
Focus on Out-of-School Children
The CEO placed special emphasis on bringing out-of-school children (OOSC) back into the mainstream education system. She called for intensive enrolment campaigns aimed at strengthening public confidence in government schools and ensuring that no child is left behind.
Academic Performance Improvement
On the academic front, the CEO expressed concern over low SSLC pass percentages in certain taluks. She directed officials to prepare microanalysis plans aimed at improving student performance. These plans will identify specific areas of weakness and implement targeted interventions.
Infrastructure and Inspections
To strengthen infrastructure, executive engineers and assistant executive engineers were asked to complete school building inspections by June 3. Headmasters have been directed to remain present during inspections and report any structural and classroom-related issues. This proactive approach aims to address potential hazards before the academic year begins.
The meeting underscored the district administration's commitment to providing quality education and a safe learning environment for all students.
