MCG Launches Citizen Facilitation Centres in 10 Gurgaon Wards
MCG Opens Citizen Facilitation Centres in 10 Gurgaon Wards

The Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) on Saturday inaugurated citizen facilitation centres (CFCs) and common service centres (CSCs) in 10 wards across the city, marking a significant step towards making civic services more accessible to residents. These centres are designed to offer a range of services, including property tax payments, Aadhaar-linked services, and issuance of birth and death certificates, among others.

Locations and Inauguration

The new centres have been established in wards 2, 3, 10, 13, 18, 22, 23, 25, 29, and 30, which includes the mayor’s camp office. Previously, the civic body operated only three CFCs located within its main offices. Mayor Raj Rani Malhotra officially inaugurated the centres from the mayor’s camp office in Bhim Nagar, with MCG commissioner Pradeep Dahiya, councillors, and senior officials in attendance.

Mayor’s Commitment

Speaking at the launch event, Mayor Malhotra emphasized the corporation’s dedication to delivering simpler and time-bound services. She stated that the ward-level centres would make essential services more accessible to residents, reducing the need to travel to distant municipal offices.

Commissioner’s Vision

Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya highlighted the role of these centres as single-window service points. He explained that they would support faster and more transparent delivery of civic services through digital platforms, thereby enhancing efficiency and accountability.

Operational Details

Additional municipal commissioner Ankita Chaudhary confirmed that trained personnel have been deployed at each centre to assist residents and ensure timely service delivery. Officials anticipate that this initiative will strengthen the city’s ward-level service delivery system and improve access to government services through decentralized and digital mechanisms. It is also expected to reduce the footfall at MCG offices, easing congestion and wait times.

Resident Reactions

The move has been warmly welcomed by residents. Lalit Suraj Bhola, a resident of Sector 9A, remarked, “Earlier, even simple tasks meant taking time off work and visiting municipal offices. Having these services available at the ward level will save residents a lot of time and make government services much more accessible.” Ravi Kumar, a resident of DLF-4, added, “Senior citizens, homemakers, and working professionals often struggle to travel to municipal offices for basic services. A facilitation centre in the ward would make these processes more convenient and citizen-friendly.”
