Bhopal: Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced on Friday that the Madhya Pradesh government is considering introducing an Investigation Allowance for officers responsible for criminal investigations, after studying similar provisions in other states.
Details of the Proposed Allowance
The proposed allowance is designed to cover additional responsibilities and expenses incurred during crime investigations. This includes visits to crime scenes, security arrangements, evidence collection, transportation support for accused, witnesses, and victims, as well as photography, videography, and digital evidence collection.
Directives to Police Force
Yadav, who also holds the home department portfolio, directed officers at all levels—from senior leadership to constabulary—to remain alert and proactive to ensure robust law and order across the state. He prioritized engaging IT consultants to address the growing challenges of cybercrime.
Simhastha 2028 Preparations Reviewed
The meeting reviewed preparations for the Simhastha 2028 festival, including crowd management, law and order, VIP security, and disaster management. Yadav emphasized that control rooms should be permanent infrastructure, noting Ujjain’s religious significance.
Appreciation and Strict Directives
Yadav congratulated the police for their vigilant handling during Basant Panchami and the Bhojshala developments. He directed strict enforcement of restrictions on open meat sales and loudspeaker regulation.
Other Key Decisions
The meeting also reviewed the establishment of the Madhya Pradesh Police Selection and Recruitment Board and the launch of an AI-enabled ‘Safeguard MP’ system aimed at ensuring the safety of senior citizens, vulnerable individuals, and women.
