MSEDCL Reschedules Pre-Monsoon Maintenance to Morning Hours to Beat Heat
MSEDCL Moves Maintenance to Early Morning to Beat Heat

Nagpur: To reduce inconvenience to citizens during the intense summer heat, the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has decided to reschedule its pre-monsoon maintenance and repair works to early morning hours.

New Timings for Maintenance

According to fresh directives issued by the headquarters on Saturday, all pre-planned outages for maintenance will now be carried out between 7 am and 11 am. Previously, such works were typically undertaken between late morning and afternoon hours, often extending from 10 am to 2 pm or even 4 pm, coinciding with peak heat conditions.

Importance of Pre-Monsoon Works

The pre-monsoon works are crucial to strengthen the power distribution network ahead of the rainy season and to minimise the risk of outages and technical faults. These maintenance activities help ensure system reliability during the monsoon.

Additional Measures

MSEDCL has also instructed field offices to provide advance intimation of scheduled outages through SMS and media platforms. The company will prioritise alternative power arrangements wherever feasible. The move is expected to bring relief to consumers while ensuring system readiness for the monsoon.
