The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) has announced the establishment of a 24-hour monsoon control room starting June 1, 2026, to address rain-related emergencies across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR). The control room will remain operational until September 30, 2026, according to an official release on Friday.
Dedicated Staff and Coordination
MSRDC officers and engineers will be deployed on duty to manage contingencies during the monsoon period. The corporation's engineering department, responsible for maintaining and repairing flyovers under its jurisdiction in the MMR, will play a key role in the initiative.
Inter-Agency Collaboration
The control room will coordinate with emergency control rooms of the state government, as well as municipal corporations of Mumbai, Thane, and Navi Mumbai, ensuring a unified response to weather-related incidents.
