Mumbai: Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde visited the 'Missing Link' project on Sunday, which is set to make the Mumbai-Pune Expressway completely 'access controlled'. The project is scheduled to open on May 1.

Shinde stated, 'I have personally come here and checked the quality of the work and it is satisfactory. The remaining minor works will be completed in the next few days. Clear instructions have been given to the officials to complete the work on time and with high quality.'

He further claimed, 'This project will bring accidents in the ghats to almost zero.' According to Shinde, the Missing Link will save fuel, save time, and significantly reduce pollution. After its launch, dangerous turns and traffic in the ghats will be completely bypassed, reducing travel time by approximately 20 to 30 minutes.
