Mumbai Traffic Police Imposes Odd-Even Parking in Vikhroli Parksite
Mumbai Traffic Police Enforces Odd-Even Parking in Vikhroli

The Mumbai Traffic Police has introduced vehicular restrictions in Vikhroli Parksite to address the persistent issue of traffic congestion. In an official statement, the traffic police highlighted that local residents, shopkeepers, and office employees have been parking vehicles on both sides of Janardan Keshav Nivalekar Marg, Road no. 1, which falls under the Ghatkopar traffic division. This haphazard parking has made it difficult for fire brigade vehicles, ambulances, and other emergency and essential services to navigate the area. The resulting traffic congestion has necessitated the implementation of a temporary odd-even parking scheme on this road.

Details of the Odd-Even Parking Scheme

Under the new regulations, parking will be permitted on the left side of Janardan Keshav Nivalekar Marg, Road no. 1, on even-numbered dates of every month. This stretch is located at Jambli Naka, in front of the BJP office, near the final BEST bus stop for bus route no. 387. Conversely, parking will be allowed on the right side on odd-numbered dates. The parking of all heavy vehicles is strictly prohibited under this scheme.

Duration and Purpose

The odd-even parking restriction will be in effect from May 7 to August 6. The primary objective is to ensure smooth movement for emergency vehicles and reduce traffic bottlenecks in the area. The traffic police urge all vehicle owners to comply with the new rules to facilitate better traffic management and safety.
