The Deputy Commissioner of Mysuru, T R Sathish Kumar, has directed officials to ensure a transparent rollout of benefits under the Prime Minister's 15-Point Programme for the welfare of minorities. Chairing a progress review meeting at the Zilla Panchayat Hall on Thursday, the DC emphasized the need for creating widespread awareness about the various welfare schemes offered by the Minority Welfare department and other government bodies.
Focus on Awareness and Monitoring
During the meeting, Sathish Kumar stressed that beneficiaries must be informed about the schemes and the application process. He instructed officials to conduct outreach programs in minority-dominated areas to ensure no eligible person is left out. The DC also called for strict monitoring of fund utilization and timely disbursal of benefits to prevent any irregularities.
Key Directives Issued
- Organize awareness camps in rural and urban areas to educate minority communities about available schemes.
- Ensure transparent and timely distribution of scholarships, skill development training, and financial assistance.
- Maintain a robust grievance redressal mechanism to address complaints effectively.
The DC further directed the Minority Welfare department to coordinate with other line departments to streamline the implementation process. He emphasized the use of digital platforms for tracking applications and disbursements to enhance transparency.
Review of Ongoing Projects
The meeting also reviewed the progress of ongoing infrastructure projects under the programme, including community halls, hostels, and skill development centers. Officials were asked to expedite pending works and submit regular progress reports. Sathish Kumar warned of strict action against any negligence or delay in project execution.
The PM 15-Point Programme aims to improve the socio-economic conditions of minority communities through targeted interventions in education, employment, and infrastructure. The Mysuru district administration has been tasked with achieving 100% saturation of scheme benefits by the end of the financial year.
