Andhra Pradesh Human Resource Development Minister Nara Lokesh visited the Rural Development Trust (RDT) hospital at Bathalapalli in Sri Sathya Sai district on Thursday. During his visit, the minister paid tributes to RDT founder Vicente Ferrer and engaged in discussions with RDT director Moncho Ferrer and other key functionaries of the organisation. This interaction took place on the sidelines of his two-day tour of Sri Sathya Sai and Anantapur districts.
Interaction with Staff and Patients
Lokesh took the time to interact with the hospital staff and patients, gaining firsthand insight into the services provided by the institution. He observed that RDT is not merely an organisation but a movement that has been transforming lives for over five decades.
RDT's Legacy and Contributions
Established 55 years ago, RDT has consistently delivered exceptional services to economically disadvantaged sections of society. The organisation has been instrumental in uplifting communities by setting up schools, hospitals, housing projects, and sports infrastructure. Lokesh emphasised that despite facing challenges and misunderstandings in the past, the organisation has persevered.
“Though there have been some misunderstandings in the past and RDT had to face hardships, I personally interacted with Moncho Ferrer, and we got their FCRA license approved by the NDA government,” Lokesh underlined. He further asserted, “We extended solidarity to RDT because this organisation has literally adopted a backward region of the state and has committed itself to the upliftment of the people of this backward region.”
