A National Lok Adalat will be organized at the Kanpur Court Complex on May 9, aiming to resolve legal disputes involving the general public through mutual settlement without imposing any penalties. This initiative is part of the special theme 'Justice at the Doorstep of the Poor,' designed to raise public legal awareness and provide relief from litigation burdens.
Press Conference Details
Detailed information about the event was shared at a press conference on Wednesday by Additional District Judge-I Sapna Tripathi, Additional District Judge-II (SC/ST) Shuchi Srivastava, and Additional Principal Judge of Family Court-I Rajiv Maheshwaram. The judicial officers highlighted that the Lok Adalat will facilitate on-the-spot disposal of various cases, including bank recoveries, tenancy disputes, mobile phone and cable network issues, as well as matters concerning income tax, banks, and other financial institutions.
Scope of Cases
Relief will be granted based on settlements in civil suits, family disputes, motor accident compensation cases, and serious cases involving bounced cheques. The senior judicial officers appealed to citizens to take maximum advantage of this opportunity to end their disputes and embark on a peaceful life.
Legal Finality
Settlements reached in a Lok Adalat are legally recognized and cannot be appealed against in any court, thereby bringing a permanent end to disputes. This ensures that parties can resolve their issues swiftly and definitively.
All citizens are encouraged to participate and benefit from this free legal service. For more information, visit the Kanpur Court Complex on May 9.
