NCC Cadets Launch First-Ever Yuva Aapda Mitra Stall at Republic Day Camp
History has been made at the Republic Day Camp 2026 in New Delhi. For the very first time, the 64 UP Battalion NCC from Lucknow University has established a dedicated 30-day stall. This initiative operates under the Yuva Aapda Mitra Scheme, commonly known as YAMS.
A Collaborative Effort for Public Safety
The National Disaster Management Authority, or NDMA, has joined forces with the National Cadet Corps to bring this camp to life. This partnership underscores a national commitment to building resilience from the ground up.
The stall itself serves as a dynamic hub for learning. Visitors can explore various disaster management techniques and crucial public safety measures. The real highlight, however, is the hands-on demonstrations conducted by the NCC cadets themselves.
Youth Stepping Up as First Responders
Rajnish Yadav, the Associate NCC Officer of the 64 UP Battalion NCC at Lucknow University, shared his thoughts on this groundbreaking project. He stated that this initiative clearly shows the increasing role young people are playing in building the nation.
"Through the Yuva Aapda Mitra Scheme, we are training our cadets to become capable first responders," Yadav explained. "They are preparing themselves to serve society effectively during any crisis."
This training equips the youth with practical skills, transforming them from bystanders into proactive community guardians. The stall at the Republic Day Camp is more than just an exhibition; it is a testament to a growing culture of preparedness.
The presence of this stall in the national capital sends a powerful message. It highlights how disaster management education is moving beyond theory and into active, youth-led practice. The cadets from Lucknow are leading by example, showing the country what the next generation of first responders looks like.
