Seva Teerth: New Complex for PMO Named, to House Key Ministries
New PMO Complex Named 'Seva Teerth'

The Government of India has officially christened the new, integrated office complex that will house the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) and several other crucial ministries. The sprawling complex, a key component of the ambitious Central Vista redevelopment project in the national capital, will be known as 'Seva Teerth'.

A New Hub for Governance in the Heart of Delhi

This significant announcement was made by Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs, Hardeep Singh Puri. The name 'Seva Teerth' translates to 'a pilgrimage of service', symbolising the government's commitment to public service. The complex is strategically located on South Block, behind the historic Hyderabad House on Bhagwan Das Road in New Delhi.

The Seva Teerth complex is not just a new address for the PMO. It is designed as a consolidated and modern administrative hub. Alongside the Prime Minister's Office, the building will accommodate the Cabinet Secretariat, the India House, and the National Security Council Secretariat (NSCS). This co-location is expected to enhance inter-ministerial coordination and streamline decision-making processes at the highest levels of government.

Architectural Vision and Construction Timeline

The architectural design of Seva Teerth has been crafted by the renowned HCP Design, Planning and Management Pvt Ltd. The firm's vision aims to blend functionality with aesthetic grandeur, creating a workspace that is both efficient and symbolic of India's governance. The construction work is being carried out by Shapoorji Pallonji and Company Limited.

According to the latest updates, the construction of this landmark complex is progressing at a rapid pace. Officials have indicated that the project is slated for completion by December 2025. Once finished, Seva Teerth will stand as a central nerve centre for the nation's administration, replacing the current, more scattered office setups.

Part of the Larger Central Vista Redevelopment

The Seva Teerth project is an integral piece of the larger Central Vista redevelopment plan, which aims to modernise the central administrative area of New Delhi. This comprehensive overhaul includes a new Parliament building, which is already operational, revamped common central secretariat buildings, and other supporting infrastructure.

The consolidation of key offices into Seva Teerth is expected to bring several operational benefits. It will reduce the physical distance between critical departments, foster better communication, and potentially improve the speed and efficiency of governance. The move is seen as a step towards creating a future-ready, integrated administrative ecosystem in the capital.

With the official naming now in place, 'Seva Teerth' is poised to become more than just a building. It is set to become the new iconic address from where the country's top leadership will steer India's future, embodying the spirit of dedicated service to the nation.
