NGO Boosts Raigad Police Capabilities with Major Traffic Safety Donation
A global non-profit organisation based in Maharashtra, Dr. Shri Nanasaheb Dharmadhikari Pratishthan, Revdanda, in Alibaug taluka, has made a significant contribution to public safety by donating 615 road barricades and 16 breath analyser equipment to the Raigad district police. This generous donation aims to enhance traffic regulation and curb drunk driving incidents across the district.
Formal Handover Ceremony at Police Headquarters
Raigad Superintendent of Police Anchal Dalal officially received the donation letter and the equipment from the NGO trustees, including Dr. Sachin Dharmadhikari, Umesh Dharmadhikari, and Rahul Dharmadhikari. The handover took place on Friday at the Raigad police headquarters in Alibaug, marking a pivotal moment in the ongoing collaboration between the police force and the philanthropic organisation.
Enhancing Traffic Safety and Deterrence Measures
SP Anchal Dalal highlighted the critical importance of this donation, noting that the 615 barricades will be instrumental in improving traffic safety and regulation throughout Raigad district. These barricades are expected to streamline traffic flow and prevent accidents by creating controlled zones in high-risk areas. Additionally, the 16 breath analysers will be distributed to various police stations across the district, enabling officers to conduct more effective checks for drunk driving.
Dalal emphasized that this equipment will serve as a strong deterrent against drunk driving, helping to reduce the alarming number of fatal accidents linked to this dangerous behavior. By facilitating swift legal action against offenders, the breath analysers are poised to make Raigad's roads safer for all residents and commuters.
Continued Support from the NGO
This donation is not the first instance of support from Dr. Shri Nanasaheb Dharmadhikari Pratishthan to the Raigad police. Earlier, on March 27 last year, the NGO contributed Rs 5 lakh to the Raigad Police Welfare Fund, demonstrating a sustained commitment to bolstering law enforcement efforts in the region. The latest contribution underscores the NGO's dedication to community welfare and public safety initiatives.
The combined impact of the barricades and breath analysers is anticipated to significantly enhance the police's ability to manage traffic and enforce laws, ultimately leading to a reduction in road accidents and fatalities in Raigad district.
