The Karnataka government has introduced a paperless registration process on an experimental basis in Chamarajanagar district. This initiative aims to streamline property transactions by digitizing land records and minimizing physical documentation.
Pilot Project Details
The pilot project, launched by the Department of Stamps and Registration, will initially cover a few sub-registrar offices in Chamarajanagar. Under this system, documents such as sale deeds and encumbrance certificates will be processed electronically, eliminating the need for paper copies.

- Digital Signatures: All documents will be signed digitally using Aadhaar-based e-signatures.
- Online Verification: Encumbrance certificates and other records will be verified online through the Kaveri online portal.
