Chief Secretary Pratyaya Amrit issued strong directives on Monday. He told the Gaya district magistrate to take immediate punitive action against contractors. These contractors were either negligent or working too slowly on projects.
Weekly Review of Key Infrastructure Projects
The Chief Secretary gave these instructions during a weekly review meeting. The focus was the North Koel Reservoir Project. He emphasized the need for faster progress. If required, the number of workers and excavation equipment at the site should be increased.
Mandai Weir Project Gets Special Attention
Amrit also reviewed the Mandai Weir Project. To speed up its progress, he directed the Water Resources Department to deploy officers actively in the districts. Department officials stated they have already deputed 30 junior engineers specifically in Jehanabad.
These engineers will visit farmers door-to-door. Their job is to communicate with landowners and assist them. They will help farmers receive compensation amounts for land acquisition.
Tajpur-Bakhtiyarpur Bridge Progress Reported
The meeting also covered the Tajpur-Bakhtiyarpur greenfield bridge. This bridge is under construction over the Ganga river. The Road Construction Department gave a detailed presentation on its status.
Officials reported that construction work is progressing satisfactorily. They assured the project will be completed within the stipulated time frame.
Focus on Ground-Level Problem Solving
During the discussions, details about the current status of all projects were shared. Problems being faced and future action plans were also discussed thoroughly.
The Chief Secretary directed all concerned officers to conduct regular field visits. This step is crucial. It ensures any technical or administrative problem at the ground level can be identified and resolved immediately.
High-Level Attendance via Video Conference
The review meeting saw participation from multiple departments. Officers from the Water Resources Department, Road Construction Department, Planning and Development Department, and Finance Department attended. Concerned district magistrates also joined the session.
All officials attended the meeting through video conferencing, ensuring coordinated efforts across different locations.
