Patna DM Inspects Key Projects, Directs Timely Completion
Patna DM Reviews Major Infrastructure Projects

In a significant push to accelerate urban development in the state capital, Patna District Magistrate (DM) Thiyagarajan S M conducted an extensive field inspection of several high-profile projects on Tuesday. The DM's tour covered multiple sites along the riverfront, with a clear directive to officials and engineers: ensure high-quality and time-bound completion of all ongoing schemes.

Focus on Memorial and Innovative Park

The inspection began at the proposed site for the Loknayak Jayprakash Narayan Memorial in Dujra Diara Mauza. Officials have identified 1.75 acres of land for this project. DM Thiyagarajan instructed the Patna Sadar circle officer to move forward with necessary administrative actions. He also directed the Bihar Urban Infrastructure Development Corporation (Buidco) to expedite the construction work at the earliest.

Next, the DM visited the 10-acre site for the unique waste-to-wonder theme park, officially named Deshratna Dr Rajendra Prasad Bihar Gaurav Udyan. The foundation stone for this innovative park was laid on August 6, 2025. This facility aims to transform scrap metal into artistic replicas of Bihar's glorious heritage. The planned installations include models of ancient universities like Nalanda and Vikramshila, alongside depictions of legendary figures such as Aryabhatta, Chanakya, and Emperor Ashoka. The park will also feature food courts and recreational areas for visitors.

Riverfront Development and Public Amenities

Moving along the Ganga riverfront, the district magistrate reviewed the progress of the JP Ganga Path Holistic Garden Project (Phase-1). This is a massive Rs 387.40-crore initiative that will cover a 7-kilometre stretch from Digha to Gandhi Maidan. The project is designed to enhance the city's landscape and provide a green corridor for residents.

He also inspected the construction of a 450-metre promenade that will connect Sabhyata Dwar to Collectorate Ghat. This walkway is specifically intended to facilitate morning walkers and tourists, offering a scenic path along the river.

Patna Haat and Broader Development Push

The field visit concluded with a review of the Patna Haat project near Gandhi Maidan. To clear the space for this construction, the Traffic DSP office located there is scheduled for relocation. This market project is part of a larger wave of development sanctioned by the state government.

DM Thiyagarajan highlighted that following the Chief Minister's "Pragati Yatra," the state government has approved a total of 32 development projects worth over Rs 10,871 crore. To ensure these infrastructure and public amenity projects are executed efficiently, a dedicated monitoring system has now been put in place. This system will oversee the progress and address bottlenecks, aiming to transform Patna's urban landscape with these significant investments.
