Pune Municipal Corporation Announces Water Cut for Urgent Maintenance
The Pune Municipal Corporation has officially announced a water cut scheduled for Thursday. This measure is necessary to conduct urgent electrical, pumping, and civil maintenance at several major water treatment facilities across the city. The affected facilities include Parvati, Wadgaon, Lashkar, Warje, and Bhama Askhed.
Expected Resumption and Potential Delays
According to a press release issued by Nandkishor Jagtap, the head of PMC's water supply department, water supply is expected to resume on Friday. However, residents should anticipate delays and lower pressure throughout the morning hours as the system stabilizes post-maintenance.
Previous Water Cut Withdrawn
It is noteworthy that a similar water cut was announced for last Thursday but was subsequently withdrawn. This decision was made in view of a strike by tanker operators, which could have exacerbated water scarcity issues for citizens.
The Pune Municipal Corporation urges all residents to store adequate water in advance and use it judiciously during this period. The maintenance work is deemed critical to ensure the long-term reliability and efficiency of the city's water supply infrastructure.
