Pune Women Struggle with Technical Glitches in State's Ladki Bahin Scheme
Thousands of women in Pune are facing persistent technical problems with the Maharashtra government's flagship Mukhyamantri Mazhi Ladki Bahin Yojana. These beneficiaries report that glitches in the mandatory e-KYC process have delayed or completely halted their monthly financial aid of Rs 1,500.
Beneficiaries Voice Their Frustrations
A 48-year-old beneficiary from Paud gaon shared her experience. She helped several women complete their e-KYC formalities but has not received her own stipend for three or four months. "I did the rounds of government offices and banks, but there is no clear reply. I don't know where the problem lies," she told reporters.
She explained that many women, particularly from rural areas, encounter similar issues. "We meet all the criteria, but the technical glitches are many. No one is able to tell us exactly what needs to be corrected," she added.
Understanding the E-KYC Deadline and Problems
Under the scheme's guidelines, beneficiaries needed to complete e-KYC by December 31, 2025. However, many women either could not finish the process or completed it but still await payment.
Beneficiaries and officials familiar with the matter identify several key issues:
- Thousands of applications are stuck because Aadhaar cards are not linked with bank accounts through NPCI mapping.
- Some beneficiaries submitted incorrect information during e-KYC.
- In other cases, women gave wrong answers to verification questions or made errors while entering details.
Officials Explain the Technical Challenges
A senior official aware of the process stated that most problems stem from incorrectly filled forms and technical mismatches. "In rural areas especially, Aadhaar-bank linking through NPCI mapping is a major hurdle. Even small errors during verification can cause an application to get stuck," the official said.
The official assured that genuine beneficiaries would undergo re-checking. Sources in the women and child development department confirmed that technical verification of applications is ongoing.
"Once the errors are resolved, all pending instalments will be credited together," an official explained.
This situation highlights the challenges rural women face with digital processes. The technical glitches prevent them from accessing crucial financial support meant to empower them through the Ladki Bahin scheme.
