Punjab Government Initiates School-Based Drive to Fight Food Adulteration

Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan declared on Friday that the state government is launching a comprehensive awareness campaign in schools. This initiative aims to tackle the widespread issue of adulteration affecting products like milk, cheese, ghee, and other dairy items.

Campaign Details and Launch Location

The campaign will kick off from Kotkapura in the Faridkot district. It involves organizing seminars and functions where students will witness live demonstrations of quality checking for sub-standard or adulterated goods.

Sandhwan emphasized that the government plans to extend invitations to the general public as well. This move will allow common people to learn how to inspect product quality on their own.

Government's Commitment and Public Support

The Speaker called for strong support from Punjabis to ensure the campaign's success. He stated that the state government is fully committed to eradicating adulteration and safeguarding public health.

Strict actions will be enforced against anyone involved in adulteration practices. Sandhwan made it clear that no exceptions will be made, regardless of personal connections or family ties.

This campaign represents a proactive step by the Punjab government to educate the younger generation and empower citizens in the fight against food adulteration.
