Paschimanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (PVVNL) is organizing consumer camps across Noida and Ghaziabad until June 30 to address a range of issues including billing discrepancies, smart meter malfunctions, app glitches, and KYC updates. As of Thursday, approximately 500 complaints have been resolved in Noida, while over 1,400 issues have been addressed in Ghaziabad. Both districts together serve more than 15 lakh consumers.
Camp Locations and Services
In Noida, camps are set up at Jewar, Dadri, Dankaur, and Sector 18 offices. In Ghaziabad, camps are operational at 10 locations across three zones. Zone 1 camps are located at Nehru Nagar, Pratap Vihar, Kamla Nehru, and Lal Kuan. Zone 2 camps are at Loni, Lalbagh, Indrapuri, Chaman Vihar, Pavi, and Mandola. Zone 3 has a camp at the Sector 16 substation in Vasundhara, trans Hindon area.
Services available at these camps include on-site resolution of smart meter complaints, bill correction or revision, 1912 complaint registration and resolution, mobile number updates, information on the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) Smart App, and assistance with smart meter usage and awareness.
Directive from Managing Director
The initiative follows a directive from PVVNL's Managing Director, Ravish Gupta. He stated, "Officials have been directed to provide better facilities and ensure the prompt resolution of issues faced by consumers."
Complaint Resolution Details
Shivam Tripathi, Executive Engineer of PVVNL, reported that out of 500 resolved complaints in Noida, billing and smart meter-related issues were predominant. Other queries included contact detail updates and app usage information.
In Ghaziabad, Amit Jha, Executive Engineer of Zone 3, said that 764 complaints were resolved at the mega camp at Trans Hindon Sector 16 substation in Vasundhara. Avinash Agrhari, Executive Engineer of Zone 1, informed that a total of 705 complaints were resolved across four camps in Nehru Nagar, Pratap Vihar, Kamla Nehru, and Lal Kuan. Of these, 301 were related to bills, 289 to mobile number updates, 56 to UPPCL Smart App operations, and 59 were other complaints.
In Zone 2, the Superintending Engineer stated that out of 34 complaints received, 28 were resolved on the spot, and the remaining 6 are expected to be resolved within a couple of days.
Overall Progress
Across the mega camps organized in 14 districts of western Uttar Pradesh, a total of 6,014 complaints have been received so far, with 5,851 resolved on the spot.
