In a decisive move to overhaul and streamline the vital statistics registration system, the Ranchi district administration has launched a focused training initiative for its officials. The goal is clear: achieve complete, accurate, and timely registration of every birth and death within its jurisdiction.
Training Programme Inaugurated for Robust System
Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri officially inaugurated a day-long district-level training programme on Friday at the collectorate building. This capacity-building exercise is designed for registrars operating across all blocks, circles, and municipal corporation areas of Ranchi district. The core objective is to make the entire process more robust, transparent, and strictly time-bound.
DC Stresses on 100% Target and Fundamental Rights
Addressing the officials, DC Bhajantri underscored the critical importance of prompt and precise registration. He announced an ambitious target of 100% achievement in birth and death registration. Elaborating on the wider impact, Bhajantri explained that such registration is not merely a statistical formality but a cornerstone for accessing fundamental rights and services.
"It not only protects the fundamental rights of individuals but also helps in Aadhaar card creation, obtaining educational certificates, enrolment in voter lists, property transfer, and availing benefits of various government schemes," he stated.
Strict 21-Day Deadline Mandated
To institutionalize efficiency, the Deputy Commissioner issued a clear directive to all concerned staff. He emphasized that registration must be completed within the prescribed legal time limit of 21 days from the occurrence of both birth and death events. This strict adherence to deadlines is expected to eliminate delays and backlogs, ensuring citizens can access essential documents without unnecessary hardship.
The training programme marks a significant step in administrative reform for Ranchi. By empowering ground-level officials with the right knowledge and stressing accountability, the district aims to build a more reliable and citizen-friendly civil registration system that serves as a accurate foundation for governance and service delivery.
