Jaipur's Sanganer Elevated Road Project Set to Commence Construction on March 5

After facing delays and missing two earlier deadlines, the long-awaited Sanganer elevated road project in Jaipur is finally moving forward. Officials from the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) confirmed on Friday that construction will begin on March 5, marking a significant step in the city's infrastructure development.

Project Details and Revised Plans

The project, which has been pending for some time, has undergone several revisions. Originally planned to extend only up to the Chordia Petrol Pump, the elevated road has now been extended to Malpura Gate, increasing its scope and potential impact. The total length of the project is 4.5 kilometers, with a revised cost estimated at Rs 240 crore.

A JDA official stated, "Recently, we issued the work order for this project and waited for a few clearances. Since all decks are clear for this project, we are going to start the construction work on March 5. The deadline for this project is 30 months." This timeline indicates a concerted effort to complete the project efficiently after previous setbacks.

Design Features and Traffic Benefits

Under the updated design, the elevated corridor will feature four exit ramps strategically located at:

  • Chordia Petrol Pump Tiraha
  • Malpura Gate
  • Sanganer Railway Overbridge (ROB)
  • Sanganer Flyover

Entry to the flyover will be available through three ramps: from the Sanganer Flyover side, the Sanganer ROB side, and near Chordia Petrol Pump Tiraha. This design aims to optimize traffic flow and reduce congestion in the area.

Another JDA official explained, "Vehicles coming from the Malpura Gate side need to come down near the Chordia Petrol Pump Tiraha to take the elevated road." This routing is expected to streamline movement and enhance accessibility for commuters.

Expected Impact on Daily Traffic

The Sanganer elevated road project is anticipated to significantly ease traffic congestion, benefiting over 2,000 vehicles daily. By providing an alternative route and reducing travel time, it will improve connectivity and support the growing urban infrastructure needs of Jaipur. The project's completion within the 30-month deadline will be closely monitored by residents and authorities alike, as it promises to transform the city's transportation landscape.
