Sankul Varg Teachers' Training Workshop Concludes

The three-day Sankul Varg Teachers' Training Workshop concluded at Sharda Sarvhitkari Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 40-D, Chandigarh, on July 6, 2026. The final day began with 'vandana' and a yoga session led by Anil Shastri, Principal of Dhanas, which teachers found refreshing and energising.

Vedic Maths and Child Rights Sessions

Jyoti Tiwari, Head of Vedic Maths, conducted an engaging session demonstrating innovative techniques to simplify the teaching and learning of mathematics. Teachers actively participated, learning methods to make maths more accessible to students.

Ankita, a POCSO Consultant from the Chandigarh Commission for Protection of Child Rights (CCPCR), followed with a session on child rights. She acquainted participants with emergency helpline numbers, Ashianas, Juvenile Justice (JJ) Homes, child welfare services in Chandigarh, and key legislations including the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act.

Child Safety and Inclusive Environment

The concluding session was delivered by Shipra Bansal, Chairperson of CCPCR. She sensitised teachers to issues related to child safety, concepts of good touch and bad touch, classroom ethics, and the importance of creating a safe, inclusive, and child-friendly school environment. Teachers also presented innovative lesson plans, showcasing the knowledge, skills, and pedagogical practices acquired during the workshop.

Workshop Conclusion

The three-day training programme ended with the recitation of the Sukhina Mantra, leaving participants enriched with fresh perspectives, renewed enthusiasm, and a strengthened commitment to value-based, child-centric education. The workshop was organised at Sharda Sarvhitkari Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 40-D, Chandigarh.
