In a significant move to enhance railway infrastructure, South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivatsava conducted a comprehensive review of ongoing development works at several railway stations in Andhra Pradesh on Saturday. Accompanied by Vijayawada Divisional Railway Manager Mohit Saonakiya, the inspection aimed to assess progress and ensure timely completion of key projects.
Detailed Inspection at Narsapur Railway Station
The review began at Narsapur railway station, where Srivatsava meticulously examined the station redevelopment initiatives. He focused on passenger amenities, the circulating area, coach depot, and yard facilities, emphasizing the need for improvements to boost commuter comfort and operational efficiency.
Safety and Maintenance Checks at Bhimavaram
Later, the SCR GM shifted his attention to Bhimavaram yard, where he inspected track maintenance and safety measures at curve number 32, located at kilometre 107. This was followed by a detailed assessment of Bhimavaram Town railway station, where he reviewed passenger amenities and other critical facilities to ensure they meet modern standards.
Infrastructure Assessments Across Key Locations
Further inspections included level crossing gate number 95 and Upputeru bridge number 149 in the section, highlighting the focus on safety and structural integrity. Srivatsava also visited the traction sub-station near Gudivada railway station, underscoring the importance of reliable power supply for railway operations.
Enhancements at Gudivada and Machilipatnam Stations
At Gudivada railway station, the GM inspected the newly renovated waiting hall, washrooms, and other passenger amenities, applauding efforts to upgrade facilities. He then proceeded to Machilipatnam railway station for a thorough review, examining the station master's office and circulating area to identify areas for improvement.
Focus on Project Deadlines and Safety
During his visit to Machilipatnam, Srivatsava took stock of the progress on the Machilipatnam Amrit station works. He advised officials to prioritize safety at the construction site and expedite efforts to complete the project within the stipulated deadline, ensuring minimal disruption to services.
