Seamless RRTS-Delhi Metro Transfer Now Live

Commuters in the National Capital Region (NCR) have received a significant boost to their travel convenience. A seamless passenger transfer facility between the high-speed Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) Namo Bharat and the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) network is now officially operational at the New Ashok Nagar Metro Station.

Integrated Corridor Formally Opened

The integrated passenger movement corridor was formally opened for public use on Sunday morning, between 8 am and 9.20 am. This strategic integration is set to strengthen multimodal urban mobility across the densely populated NCR, offering a unified travel experience.

A spokesperson for the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), which played a pivotal role in enabling this linkage, highlighted the benefits. "This integration enables smooth and secure interchange for passengers travelling between DMRC and RRTS networks, enhancing commuter convenience, reducing transit time, and improving overall travel experience," the spokesperson stated.

Meticulous Coordination and Security Protocols

The seamless operational handshake was not achieved overnight. It resulted from detailed planning and strict adherence to a structured Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). This SOP was jointly developed by the CISF unit of DMRC in consultation with the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) and state security forces.

"The SOP ensures uniform security protocols, coordinated inspections, controlled access management, and enhanced passenger safety," the CISF spokesperson added. The CISF has been deployed to secure RRTS stations in Delhi, ensuring its security framework integrates perfectly with the established DMRC system.

Boosting Regional Connectivity

The RRTS 'Namo Bharat' project is a transformative initiative aimed at providing fast regional connectivity across the NCR. As part of its ambitious first phase, the Delhi–Meerut RRTS corridor is being developed to drastically cut travel times. The trains on this corridor are designed to operate at speeds of up to 180 kmph.

The inauguration event saw the presence of senior officials from all key agencies involved. From CISF, Senior Commandant Ajay and Commandant Manas De were present alongside other officers. DMRC was represented by Pradeep Kumar Yadav, Station Manager of New Ashok Nagar Metro Station. The NCRTC delegation included Director (DE&RS) Mahendra Kumar, Chief Security Principal M S Upadhyay, and Assistant Security Commissioner Kapil Bhardwaj.

This development marks a critical step in creating a truly interconnected and efficient public transportation network for the National Capital Region, promising faster, safer, and more convenient journeys for millions of daily commuters.
