Gandhinagar: Chief Secretary Manoj Das emphasized that the role of secretariat officers in the administrative system is crucial, as decisions made at this level have long-lasting effects on governance. He made these remarks while inaugurating a three-day special training workshop for deputy secretary-level officers.
Training Programme Details
The training programme is being organized by the Sardar Patel Institute of Public Administration (SPIPA) from April 23 to 25. The workshop focuses on the theme of 'Enhancing Administrative Capacities and Leadership.'

Das stated that resolutions made at the secretariat level in the past continue to impact the lives of lakhs of citizens. Therefore, decisions must be correct, for the public good, and precise. He urged officers to adapt quickly to the increasing use of artificial intelligence and new technologies in governance.
"In an age where AI and new technologies are advancing at double the speed every two years, it is essential for officers to continuously update and train themselves with modern technology," an official statement quoted the Chief Secretary as saying.

The workshop will cover a wide range of topics, including:
