Residents of Sector 105 in Noida have formally approached local MLA Pankaj Singh with a detailed representation highlighting several infrastructural issues that have allegedly been neglected for years. The concerns include deteriorating roads, inadequate drainage systems, poorly maintained parks, and a lack of basic public facilities that affect daily life.
Key Infrastructure Demands
In a letter submitted to the MLA, residents outlined 11 critical areas requiring immediate attention. Among the most pressing issues are the roads within the sector, which were constructed approximately eight years ago and have remained in a state of disrepair for a long time.
"Only a few roads have been resurfaced, leading to significant frustration among community members," said Deepak Sharma, President of the Resident Welfare Association (RWA) for Sector 105. He called for comprehensive resurfacing efforts to restore the structural integrity of roads throughout the sector.
Safety and Navigation Concerns
Residents also pointed out the need for enhanced safety measures, including white lane markings and speed breakers, urging immediate action from authorities. They demanded installation of streetlights on dark stretches within the sector to improve visibility and safety at night.
Another issue raised was the poor condition of signage. Damaged display boards have hindered visitors' access and caused confusion. "We have appealed for attractive stainless-steel signage to enhance the sector's visual appeal and provide better guidance," said Sharma.
Drainage and Public Amenities
The state of the drainage system was flagged as a major concern, with residents calling for a comprehensive plan to reconstruct drains, improve water flow, and build necessary culverts. They also demanded cross-footpaths, decorative palm trees, and installation of stainless-steel benches in the sector's parks. Boundary walls in the area also require urgent repairs.
Due to a lack of public toilets, residents urged officials to construct such facilities in the green belt outside park gates 3, 4, and 5.
Park Maintenance and Water Supply
Baldev Singh Negi, RWA General Secretary, highlighted the poor condition of Plus Park. "The park is covered in dust, and cleaning is carried out only sporadically. There is absolutely no provision for water supply, and not a single official appears to be paying any attention to this issue," he said.
Official Response
AK Arora, General Manager of Noida Authority, stated that the issues raised will be addressed soon and that concerns have been forwarded with directives to the senior manager in charge of the area. Noida MLA Pankaj Singh also promised that action will be taken promptly.
